So far eight world cups have been conducted.Australia has won 3 times,West Indies 2 times and India,Pakistan and Sri Lanka Once each.England has conducted the tournament 4 times, but has never won the cup.In 1987 the world cup was conducted for the first time outside England.West Indies for the first time was unable to make it to Finals.More over the games were reduced from 60 overs to 50 due to the shorter daylight hours on the Indian Sub-continent.England lost the cup to Australia by a narrow margin of 7 runs.
Lord's hosted the Final Matches for four times.The latest World Cup was won by Australia in South Africa.

Cricket World Cup 2007

The biggest sporting event of the year 2007 is going to start in another 50 odd days in the Caribbean islands.Despite the initial doubt in the air about the West Indies' capability in conducting the sporting event of this kind,it seems be everything is going on smoothly and the country has geared up with12 stadia in 9 venues.
