Industry majors IBM and Yahoo teamed up offering a free Enterprise Search Software for small and Medium Scale Business units.The team shaped this product taking the open Source Lucence [a Java library for indexing and searching text documents] , Crawl/Spider programs from the original IBM Omni Search suite and finally the look and feel of the familiarYahoo Search.The suite provides support for up to 500,000 documents per server, more than 200 file types and documents in more than 30 languagesI believe the main reason behind IBM teaming up with Yahoo is to make the product simple and easy to use.

Why not Google
Google already has one such prodcut in its bag named ,Google Mini.I believe long back it too was availble for free.But when I checked at its website today , it is being charged.Ping this URL to look at it and compare it against the current IBM Yahoo' product .Lets see how Google will reciprocate now.
