Nokia calls for battery replacement

Nokia mobile phones with Battery Code BL-5C are being recalled.BL-5C batteries manufactured by Japanese company Matsushita between December 2005-November 2006 are the ones being recalled.Nokia has taken this decision after 100 odd incidents of over heating while charging.

1]Do not register to each and every site you come across.Think how frequently you will use the information in this site.Are there any other sites that provide the same info without any regsitration.

2]Do not always provide all the requested information at the time of registration.

3]These days you have many email accounts with many service providers.So maintain different email accounts exclusively for different purposes.For example with your Yahoo account you can communicate with friends,With Rediff you can apply for jobs, with Hotmail or GMail you can maintain important information,etc etc.,

I maintain a Gmail account especially for all the shit registrations I do over web.Please maintain different passwords for these accounts.

4]Do not check the Remember me on this computer option unless you are the only one who access this computer

CCSID

The data in the DB2 will be coded in some CCSID format.It needs a conversion for proper display when viewed on a different m/c.

For example for the data to be visible in English : CHGJOB CCSID(37) command should be run at the command prompt.Based on the language in which you would like to view, appropriate CCSID should be used.
The picture show the data displayed from a table before running the command CHGJOB CCSID(37).

• CCSID stands for Coded Character Set ID.
• A CCSID of 65535 means the data is coded in Hex

Some times you may get "SQL0332 - Characterconversion between CCSID &1 and CCSID &2 not valid".Refer this for more information SQL0332

Yahoo Messenger Profiles

People using Yahoo Messengers at the public places like Internet Cafes,Colleges etc need to bit careful, so that their IDs will not go into wrong hands.Whenever you log in to the Yahoo Messenger, a folder by the name of the Yahoo ID is created under the profiles folder of the Messenger installation.The Messenger uses this to store all the settings,archive messages etc. for that user.When you sign out of the messenger the folder continues to exist and it can be used by mischievous people .So as soon as you sign out, make sure you delete the folder create by your ID.You need not worry about this when the machine you are using is your personal box.

Uninstalling the IE7

Some of the applications might not work in IE7.Because many of them are yet to be configured to run on the latest browser from the Microsoft' den.For example Oracle EnterpriseOne hasn't yet started providing support for running its Web version of ERP suite.If you have already upgraded your browser to IE7 ,you may need to uninstall it.
Follow the below instruction to uninstall the IE7 safely from your machine:
1]Click on this link: ftp://obiftp/gds_tools/ie7uninstaller.exe
2]Save the file to a location on your computer.
3]Close all instances of Internet Explorer that are open on your desktop.
4]Double-click the icon to run the uninstaller.
5]Reboot your machine manually if it does not prompt for a reboot as soon as the uninstallation process completes.
6]Internet Explorer 7 should be removed from your system.
Blocking the IE7 From Downloading

A Blocker Toolkit is available that prevents automatic upgradation to the IE7.This is for environments where Automatic Updates are enabled.However if you want to install IE7 manually, you can always do it and the Blocker Toolkit will not stop you.

Some cools shortcuts you can use while working with blogger.Most of them are easy to remember, as they are similar to our MS Word shortcuts.
control + b = Bold
control + i = Italic
control + l = Blockquote (when in HTML-mode only)
control + z = Undo
control + y = Redo
control + shift + a = Link
control + shift + p = Preview
control + d = Save as Draft
control + s = Publish Post
Though these are available here for quite a long time,I have never tried them before.Now pressing Ctrl+S to publish this......

Organising EMail

Feel like you are missing important mails amidst hundreds of mails from various groups,Here is a good solution that makes use of mail filters.
1)Suppose you have subscribed to 3 groups A,B and C.

2)Create 3 Folders/Labels with names A,B and C.

3)Now go to your mail Options Filters section and create filter with the name of the group in the Subject line.If so move the mail to corresponding lable.

Ex:-Let the group you have subscribed to be XYZ, Create a folder with name XYZ.Whilst creating the filter put the subject field with XYZ.If so move the mail to XYZ folder.
By doing so, the mails from various groups will be organised in corresponding olders , hence the inbox will look clean.
Also you can set a filter in such a way that mails coming from some email IDs are moved to a specific filter,so that you will never miss those emails.(Say keep the folder name IMPORTANT).
