Google expanded its Google News service with a provision to search the past.As part of it has indexed 200 years of history from various resources like Gaurdian,NY Times,Washington Post,Time.....The Hindu,Deccan Herald etc.,Its a great source of information for those who would like to dig the past to know about their place,people,incidents etc, which otherwise want us to go to some big libraries.Most of the news happened during the last 15-20 years is availbale for free.But gaining access to (some of the ) pre 1990 news , needs to subscribe to the mother site.Information indexed from some of the portals like Time and UK's Guardian newspaper allows to access most of the information for free.Overall its great service from the Google stable.News about Windows 98 when it was released.
